Amid controversies surrounding Twitter's blue check subscription service and other policies initiated by Elon Musk upon resumption as Twitter head, a poll whether or not he should step-down was organized.
In the poll, 57% of 17,502,391 people who participated voted that Elon Musk should step-down while 43% representing 7,526,028 people voted for Elon Musk to continue as Twitter head.
Going by the decision of this 17.5 million participants out of his 122 million Twitter followers, Elon Musk who pledged to abide by the results of the poll will step-down as Twitter head.
Recall that Elon Musk bought Twitter, a micro blogging and social platform for $44 billion from Jack Dorsey and Co. Elon Musk announced his plans to acquire Twitter in the fourth quarter of 2022. Weeks after, he intended to withdraw from the acquisition deal but was compelled after some legal battles.Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.

He began making changes shortly after acquiring the company. First, he laid off half of the company's staff. After which he announced a revised version of the Twitter Blue subscription service which would include a blue verified checkmark for anyone who purchased the service.
This lead to impersonation of all sorts, hence the service was suspended.
